TWO LOCALITIES IN SABAH TO UNDERGO EMCO

KOTA KINABALU: Two localities in Sabah has been placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) following a spike in Covid-19 cases.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said 17 individuals out of 34 have tested positive for Covid-19 Kampung Sungai Langgas, Kunak.

Meanwhile, in Lorong 2 Kampung Kongsi 8, Tawau, a total of 15 out of 56 screening test samples came back positive.

The locality in Tawau will undergo EMCO starting tomorrow until May 31 while Kampung Sungai Langgas, Kunak has been placed under EMCO from today and will end on May 30.

Masidi said the decision to place the localities under lockdown was made after a joint risk assessment with various agencies in the MCO Technical Committee was conducted and on the advice of the Health Ministry.
