170 FAMILIES EVACUATED TO RELIEF CENTRES IN KOTA MARUDU


11 JAN 2021 By Ruby Koh KOTA MARUDU: A total of 170 families from four villages here were evacuated to the temporary flood relief shelters. They comprised a total of 666 individuals, including six infants from four villages, namely Kampung (Kg) Asin-Asin, Kg Belianjung, Kg Damai and Kg Kuranji. Other the villages that are affected by flash floods that occurred due to heavy rain since yesterday evening are Kg Taritipan, Kg Tanjung Batu Darat, Kg Goruntong, Kg Popok, Kg Popok Laut, Kg Parong, Kg Langob, Kg Panchur and Kg Ongkilan. It was reported that the water level has reached 8.50 metres in Sungai Bongon and 5.85 metres in Sungai Bandau. No casualties due to floods were reported.
