KOTA KINABALU: A large crowd was seen flocking around for tickets at the Inanam Bus Terminal before the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into effect today.
Photos of people carrying their luggages and bags which were posted by netizens in social media such as Facebook went viral.
The situation was somewhat similar to the balik kampung exodus during festive seasons.
At the comment section of the post, a Facebook user said the ticketing counter in the bus terminal was overcrowded by people.
"It is sad to see that people who are far from their families have to go back to their villages during this period.
"The people will be suffering," he said.
Some districts in the state, especially Kota Kinabalu also saw an increase of traffic today.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin announced that six areas including Sabah will be under MCO for two weeks starting from 13 Jan.
