LABUAN: After a three-year hiatus, the Borneo Amateur Challenge (BAC) 11 - Boxing Edition was held on February 26th at the Borneo Combat Gym (BCG) in Labuan.
The event aimed to revive combat sports' momentum after the global pandemic in 2020 and introduce the sport to the local community.
The event was organised by the Labuan Sport Kickboxing Association, sanctioned by the International Sport Kickboxing Association Borneo (ISKA Borneo), and supported by Borneo Combat Gym, Labuan Boxing Association and Majlis Sukan Labuan.
The boxing competition featured 48 participants from seven teams, including Mandau Boxing Club, BCG Kepayan, Aru Boxing, Labuan Amateur Boxing Association, Quinn MMA Karabaw Labuan, Deaf Muay Thai, and BCG Labuan.
One of the main objectives of this event was to remember the late Mejar (B) Rosli bin Daud, the late president of Labuan Amateur Boxing Association.
His wife who attended the event expressed her appreciation and gratitude towards the effort being made to continue her late husband's hopes and dreams to see boxing sports being developed and continued within the local community.
