BUSINESS OPERATING HOURS IN SABAH NOW FROM 9AM TO 6PM

KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has decided to standardise all business operating hours throughout Sabah which will take effect immediately.


The new allowed operating hours are from 9am to 6pm. Previously, businesses were allowed to operate until 7pm.


Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun the decision was made following a surge in Covid-19 cases and clusters in Sabah, where a total of 305 new cases and six new clusters were registered today.


Businesses that are allowed to operate throughout the lockdown period from June 1-14 are restaurants and eatery outlets, public markets, laundromats, gas stations, animal care and pet shops, optical shops, hardware shops, workshops, e-commerce, wholesale and distribution of essential products, electrical and electronic shops, book and stationery shops, car distribution and sale centres, prayer and funeral equipment stores, carwash centres, and phone shops.


Other businesses that are permitted to open are departmental stores with sections of food and beverages and basic needs, pharmacies, convenient stores and mini marts.
