KOTA KINABALU: Community Development Leader (PPM) for Api-Api Constituency, Theresa Chong Mui Lan, inspected the condition of the open recreational space between the blocks at Sinsuran Shopping Complex in Kota Kinabalu on Wednesday, following complaints from shop owners and traders in the vicinity.

"The broken tiles on the ground pose a significant danger to shoppers and pedestrians passing through the area," she remarked, urging the relevant authorities to address the damaged sections from Block B to Block I in the interest of public safety.

Chong also highlighted the need for maintenance of the existing planter boxes, as some have been abandoned and now serve as rat nests, which could pose a public health risk.

Meanwhile, Siti Zubaidah, the Sinsuran Coordinator for Api-Api Constituency, pointed out overgrown trees lining the road at the shopping complex.

"I believe the trees need trimming to prevent any untoward incidents," she said, emphasising the importance of regular maintenance to ensure safety for visitors and traders alike.
