The grant presentation was officiated by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, at a Dinner Gathering with the Kuskop Agency and cooperative leaders from the Kapit Division, held at Dewan Sri Balleh Kapit, yesterday.

Also present were the Malaysian Minister of Works and Member of Parliament for Kapit, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Pelagus Assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Anak Ijang, the Executive Chairman of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), Rusli Jaafar, and local leaders.

Ewon stated that as of December 31st of the previous year, a total of 1,159 cooperatives were registered with a membership of 310,125 individuals, and a total of RM224.38 million in shares/fees were collected.

"Meanwhile, the accumulated assets amounted to RM647.49 million, and the contribution of cooperative movements in Sarawak in 2022 amounted to RM392.59 million."
