COVID-19: 2,783 ACTIVE CASES IN SABAH AS OF JAN 23

KOTA KINABALU: As of today (Jan 23), there are a total of 2,783 active Covid-19 cases in Sabah, with 856 currently treated in the hospital, 1,908 at the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and the rest at the temporary detention centres or prison.
According to Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, of the total, 87 patients are treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 18 of them require ventilator support.
Today, Sabah registered a total of 498 positive cases, bringing the cumulative total of infections in Sabah to 46,360.
Lahad Datu recorded the highest number of new cases today with 82, followed by Kota Kinabalu (49), Tawau (44), Sandakan (34), Putatan (26), Beaufort (26), Tuaran (25), Keningau (21), Papar (19), Ranau (19), Kinabatangan (18), Penampang (18), Kota Marudu (17), Semporna (15), Pitas (13), Kota Belud (11) and Kudat (11).
Meanwhile, Tambunan and Kalabakan each recorded nine new cases, Telupid eight cases, Kunak and Sipitang seven cases each, Beluran five cases, Kuala Penyu (four cases) and Tongod (one case).
Nabawan and Tenom did not record any new cases today.
A total of 434 recoveries were also recorded, bringing the cumulative total of recovered patients in Sabah to 42,013.
