COVID-19: 255 FOREIGN WORKERS IN SABAH TEST POSITIVE AS OF FEB 15

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 255 foreign workers in Sabah have tested positive for Covid-19 as of Feb 15, said Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun.
In a press conference today, he said 69,088 or 60 per cent out of 115,157 the total foreign workers who are Socso contributors have undergone the Covid-19 screening test as of today.
"A total of 2,621 out of 8,369 employers have conducted Covid-19 screening on their workers... A total of 255 have tested positive, an increase of 31 foreign workers since last reported on Feb 2," he said.
According to Masidi, the operation period for employers responsible to conduct screening on their workers is until Feb 28.
"Currently, employers are still conducting Covid-9 screening test on all their foreign workers in the clinics registered with Socso," he added.
Following the reduce in number of daily Covid-19 cases in Sabah, the minister mentioned that the Ministry of Health (MOH) will conduct a continuous risk assessment to decide whether the Movement Control Order will be lifted as scheduled on Feb 18 or extended to a later date.
