COVID-19: 5,142 CHILDREN TEST POSITIVE IN SABAH LAST YEAR

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 5,142 children below 12 years old had tested positive for Covid-19 in Sabah last year.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said of the total, 2,512 were children below the age of five and 707 were infants.
"A total of four death cases were also recorded, where two of the deaths involved infants below one year old," he said during a press conference here, today.
Meanwhile, a total of 112 clusters were registered in Sabah as of 31 December last year with 49 of them still active to date.
"In 2021, Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of clusters with 27, followed by Tawau (20) and Sandakan (18).
"Kota Kinabalu also recorded the highest Covid-19 cases in 2021 with 9,535 while the district that registered the least number of cases was Nabawan with only seven," he said.
