COVID-19: 713 ACTIVE CASES IN SABAH AS OF FEB 28
28 Feb 2021 By Wartawan Nabalu News KOTA KINABALU: There are a total of 713 active Covid-19 cases in Sabah as of Feb 28, including 134 new cases registered today. The cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in Sabah now stands at 52,886.
Local and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said of the total, 257 patients are being treated in the hospitals, 448 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and eight in temporary detention centres. "A total of 35 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 17 patients requiring ventilator support. "A total of 161 patients have recovered from Covid-19 today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide recoveries to 51,523," he said in a statement today.
Of all the districts, Nabawan recorded the highest number of new cases with 43, followed by Kinabatangan (19), Kota Kinabalu (14), Tawau (14), Kunak (12), Keningau (seven), Kalabakan (six), Kota Marudu (five), Tuaran (three), Kudat (three), Lahad Datu (two), Kota Belud (two), Sandakan (one), Beluran (one), Semporna (one), Sipitang (one). Meanwhile, a total of 11 districts did not record new case today, namely Penampang, Papar, Putatan, Beaufort, Pitas, Tambunan, Tenom, Telupid, Ranau, Kuala Penyu, and Tongod. "Of the 134 new cases, 71 were from existing clusters, 48 were close contacts, nine were individuals with symptoms, three from Socso screening, and three from other categories," said Masidi.
