COVID-19: NEW 'JALAN CHESTER' CLUSTER IN TAWAU

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah registered one new Covid-19 cluster today, known as the 'Jalan Chester Cluster' in Tawau.

Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said the Jalan Chester cluster has a cumulative total of 10 cases, including seven new cases reported today.

"The index case of this cluster was a worker of a goldsmith at the city centre who tested positive through a screening of symptomatic individuals on Feb 2.

"Through close contact screening, nine more individuals tested positive for the cluster. Contact tracing activity is still being actively conducted," he said in a statement today.

Sabah recorded a total of 233 new Covid-19 cases and 288 recoveries today. Three new Covid-19 deaths were also reported each in Tuaran, Tawau and Kalabakan.
