COVID-19: NEW KALABAKAN SELATAN CLUSTER INVOLVE PLANTATION WORKERS

KOTA KINABALU: A new Covid-19 cluster has been registered in Sabah today involving plantation workers in Kalabakan.

Sabah's Covid-19 official spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said the cluster is known as the Kalabakan Selatan cluster and has a cumulative total of 22 cases.

Of the total, 21 cases were detected through close contact screening.

"The index case of the cluster is a 55-year-old plantation manager who tested positive on May 20 after exhibiting symptoms of infection.

"Based on the early investigation, he is believed to have contracted the virus while visiting the workers’ quarters during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said in a statement today.
