KOTA KINABALU: A new Covid-19 cluster involving a workplace infection has been detected in Keningau today.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the infection was believed to have started from a sawmill in Keningau.
The new cluster also involves four different localities in the district, he added.
“The index case is a four-year-old female foreigner who tested positive through symptomatic screening in Keningau Hospital.
"Following the case, close contact screening also detected 16 positive cases on July 10,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, another two positive cases were also reported by IPG Keningau quarantine centre.
“So far, 88 individuals have been screened, bringing the total cumulative cases to 19 including 18 new cases,” he added.
