COVID 19: NO NEW DEATH RECORDED, 298 NEW CASES

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah State Health Department recorded a total of 298 Covid-19 positive cases today, bringing the cumulative total of infections in the state to 48,868 cases.
Minister Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said that there are no death cases and new cluster recorded today.
Of the 298 cases recorded, 223 stemmed from close contact screening, 29 cases from symptomatic screening, and 13 cases from existing clusters, seven cases from PERKESO screening and 26 cases are from other categories.
“A total of 391 Covid-19 patients have been discharged today, bringing the cumulative numbers of recovered person to 45,212 people.
“Currently 2,152 patients are still receiving treatment, with 709 people in the hospital, 1,420 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and 23 in Temporary Detention Center (PTS).
“There are 95 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 27 intubated,” he said in a statement today.
Masidi explained that Kota Kinabalu still recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases with 45 cases, followed by Keningau (28), Lahad Datu (26), Tawau (24), Kudat and Sipitang (22), Papar (18), Tuaran (14), Sandakan (13), Penampang (12), Putatan and Kalabaan (11), Beaufort (10).
“Meanwhile, other districts that recorded single-digit new cases include Kinabatangan and Kunak with eight cases, Kota Belud (six), Kota Marudu (four), Semporna, Beluran, Nabawan and Tenom (three), Ranau (two), Kuala Penyu and Telupid both one cases,” he added.
Three districts did not recorded any Covid-19 cases were Pitas, Tongod and Tambunan.
