COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 105 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded a total of 105 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 52,373.


Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said one death was registered today in Tawau.


"A total of 191 patients today have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total of statewide recoveries to 50,920.

"As of Feb 24, 791 patients are still receiving treatment with 300 in hospitals, 489 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and 10 in temporary detention centres," he said in a press conference today.


"A total of 41 patients are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 13 of them requiring ventilator support," he added.


Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number cases with 24, followed by Nabawan with 19 cases, Keningau (15), Tawau (12), Lahad Datu (12), Kalabakan (seven), Tuaran (six), Sandakan (two), Putatan (two), Tenom (two), Kudat (one), Kota Belud (one), Kinabatangan (one) and Penampang (one).


Meanwhile, a total of 13 districts did not register new case today, namely Kota Marudu, Beluran, Pitas, Papar, Beaufort, Telupid, Semporna, Ranau, Tambunan, Sipitang, Kunak, Kuala Penyu, and Tongod.


Unfortunately, a new cluster has emerged in Nabawan - the Sinsingon cluster - which records a cumulative total of 19 new cases, including 18 new cases reported today.
