COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 109 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: The daily Covid-19 cases in Sabah today has maintained with three digits with 109 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 55,906.
Of the total, 49 are close contacts, 34 from existing clusters, 15 from symptomatic screening, and 11 from other categories, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.
Tawau reported the highest number of new cases with 70, while other districts only reported one digit of caseload.
Sandakan has eight new cases cases, while Kota Kinabalu has seven, Kota Belud has five, Kunak reported four, three cases each in Tuaran, Lahad Datu and Kalabakan, Kinabatangan has two, and one case each reported in Semporna, Nabawan, Putatan and Penampang.
Aside from the green zone districts, Beluran, Telupid, Kuala Penyu, and Tongod, and 10 other districts did not record new cases today, namely Papar, Keningau, Beaufort, Ranau, Sipitang, Pitas, Tambunan, Kudat, Tenom and Kota Marudu.
According to Masidi's statement, one Covid-19 death was also reported in Tawau today.
"The number of active cases now stands at 794 with 307 of the patients at the hospitals, including 47 in the intensive care unit with 17 of them ventilated, and 487 in the quarantine and low-risk treatment centres.
"The cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah is 54,624 to date, including an addition of 68 recoveries reported today," he said.
