COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 132 NEW CASES, FOUR DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 132 Covid-19 positive cases, bringing the cumulative number of the total statewide infections to 50,855.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, four more deaths were also recorded today, with two cases in Tawau and one case each in Putatan and Sandakan.
He added that of the total, 57 cases stemmed from close contact screening, 15 cases from screening of symptomatic individuals, 24 cases from new and existing clusters, one from Socso screening and 35 from other categories.
Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 34 cases, followed by Keningau (15), Kudat (14), Lahad Datu (11), Tawau (eight), Putatan (six), Sandakan (five), Papar, Penampang, Semporna and Kota Marudu (four), Tuaran, Kunak, Tenom, Kota Belud (three), Kinabatangan, Kalabakan, Beluran, Sipitang (two), Telupid, Beaufort and Tambunan (one) cases respectively.
Meanwhile, five districts did not report any case, namely Tongod, Nabawan, Ranau, Kuala Penyu, Pitas.
"A total of 174 patients have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 48,535," he said during a press conference here, today.
Masidi added that a total of 1,424 patients are still receiving treatment where 517 are treated in the hospitals, 904 patients in the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre, and three in temporary detention centres.
"The total number of Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 64 and 21 are ventilated," he stated.
Two new clusters (Jalan Tiga KKIP cluster) and (Lorong Bersatu Damai cluster) are also recorded in Kota Kinabalu today.
