COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 190 NEW CASES

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 190 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 68,232.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said of the total cases, 75 cases were detected through close contact screening, while 57 were detected through cluster screening, 27 through symptomatic screening, 21 from targeted screening and 10 from other categories.
“Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest cases with 38 followed by Kudat (34), Kota Belud (23), Tawau and Sandakan (12), Beaufort and Keningau (11), Putatan and Kalabakan (nine), Kota Marudu (eight), Penampang (six), Tuaran (five), Kuala Penyu (four), Lahad Datu (three), Kunak (two), Papar, Tongod, and Nabawan (one)," he said in a statement today.
Districts that did not record any cases today are Ranau, Semporna, Pitas, Kinabatangan, Telupid, Sipitang, Tambunan, Tenom, and Beluran.
The number of active cases now stands at 1,407 with 431 treated at hospitals and 965 in quarantine centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 67 with 16 requiring ventilator support," he stated.
As for recoveries, a total of 151 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 66,681.
