COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 193 NEW CASES, TENOM NOW GREEN ZONE

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 193 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 68,029.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said one more green zone has been registered which is Tenom after all active cases in the district recovered.
The state now has a total of two green zones, three orange zones, four yellow zones and 18 red zones.
"Seven deaths were also reported today with two in Tawau and one each in Sandakan, Kunak, Kudat, Penampang and Keningau.
"Of the total cases, 66 cases were detected through close contact screening, while 29 were detected through cluster screening, 15 through symptomatic screening, nine through targeted screening and the rest from other categories," he said in a statement today. According to Masidi, the number of active cases now stands at 1,412 with 442 treated at hospitals and 959 in quarantine centres. "The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 72 with 21 requiring ventilator support," he stated. As for recoveries, a total of 338 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 65,895.
