COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 233 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 233 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative of statewide infections to 65,021.


However, Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said one death related to the virus was reported today in Semporna.


“Of the total cases, 128 were detected through close contact screening, 55 through cluster screening, 37 through symptomatic screening, two from targeted screening, and 11 from other categories.


“Kota Kinabalu still recorded the highest number of cases today with 58, followed by Tawau 42, Sandakan 33, Kudat 16, Penampang 14, Putatan nine, Papar and Nabawan (eight), Beaufort and Pitas (six), Lahad Datu, Semporna, and Kota Marudu (five), Tuaran (four), Kuala Penyu (three), Sipitang and Telupid (two), Kota Belud, Kalabakan, Tongod, Kinabatangan, Keningau, Kunak, and Ranau (one).


“Meanwhile, only three districts did not record any new cases today, which are Tambunan, Tenom, and Beluran,” he said in a statement today.


Masidi who is also the Local Government and Housing Minister added that a total of 212 patients have recovered today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 62,072.


"To date, a total of 1,915 patients are still under treatment with 531 in hospitals, and 1,384 in quarantine centres.


“Currently, 95 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 37 of them requiring ventilator support,” he said.
