COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 282 NEW CASES, 311 RECOVERIES
1 Feb 2021 By Wartawan Nabalu News KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 276 new Covid-19 cases recorded today, 22 cases less compared with yesterday's daily cases record, said Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun. In a statement today, he said of the total, 174 cases stemmed from close contact screening, 24 from symptomatic individuals screening, 53 from existing clusters, four from workplace screening, three from pre-treatment screening, one from SOCSO screening, and the rest from various categories. Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 39, followed by Kinabatangan (38), Sandakan (30), Keningau (24), Penampang (24), Papar (17), Tawau (14), Kudat (14), Sipitang (10), Putatan (10), and Kota Belud (10). Meanwhile, other districts that recorded single-digit new cases include Lahad Datu with nine cases, Tuaran (eight), Beaufort (eight), Kalabakan (six), Tenom (four), Ranau (three), and Telupid (two). Six districts recorded only one new case, namely Kunak, Kota Marudu, Semporna, Beluran, Kuala Penyu and Pitas, while Nabawan, Tongod and Tambunan did not record any. "A total of 301 patients have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the cumulative total of statewide recoveries to 45,513. "A total of 2,035 patients are currently receiving treatment with 685 in hospitals, 1,326 at the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre, and 24 at the temporary detention centres or prisons," he said. According to the minister, 91 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit where 26 of them are ventilated. No Covid-19 deaths were reported, but Sabah recorded three new clusters today - Kg Samin Cluster in Sipitang. Kg Padas Damit Cluster in Beaufort, and Ladang Sg Pin Cluster in Kinabatangan.
