COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 406 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 406 new Covid-19 cases today, a decrease of 120 cases compared to yesterday, bringing the cumulative total of infections in the state to 45,008 cases.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said three deaths were recorded today with two in Sandakan and one in Kota Kinabalu.
He said of the 406 positive cases of Covid-19, 264 cases stemmed from close contact screening, 77 from symptomatic screening, while 20 cases were from new and existing clusters screening.
"A total of seven cases were from the screening of hostel students while six cases were from workplace screening and the rest were from other categories," he told a press conference, here, today.
Masidi said, a total of 416 Covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from the hospital today, bringing the cumulative total to 40,549 recoveries.
He said a total of 2,926 patients are still receiving treatment with 808 at the hospital, 2,108 at the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres and 10 at the Temporary Detention Center (PTS) or prison.
"The number of Covid-19 patients in the ICU is 84 and 14 need respiratory aids," he said.
