Covid-19: Sabah records 497 new cases, one death

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today records 497 Covid-19 cases, a slight increase of 23 cases compared to yesterday’s 474, bringing the total cumulative cases.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, one death was also recorded today in Tawau.
Of the total, 240 were detected through close contact screening, while 118 were detected through cluster screening, 86 through symptomatic screening, 35 through targeted screening and 18 from other categories.
To date, all green zones have gone while 18 districts have been declared red zones, three orange zone and six yellow zones.
"The number of active cases now stands at 3,669 with 550 treated at hospitals, 2,142 in quarantine centres and 977 in temporary detention centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 72 with 19 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.
As for recoveries, a total of 266 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 72,325.
