COVID-19:TELUPID NOW GREEN ZONE

KOTA KINABALU: Telupid is now registered as a green zone after no more Covid-19 active cases were reported.


With the latest development, there are now five districts including Telupid that have been declared as green zones to date, namely Ranau, Pitas, Kuala Penyu and Tongod.


However, the Covid-19 new cases in the state today increased to 73 from 63 yesterday, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 54,989.


Of the total, 28 were close contacts, 11 identified from symptomatic screening, 28 from new and existing clusters, and six from other categories, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun in a statement today.

Tawau reported the highest number of new cases with 35, followed by Keningau (12), Kota Kinabalu (11), Nabawan (four), Sandakan (three), Lahad Datu and Putatan (two), as well as Kinabatangan, Kalabakan, Kota Belud and Kudat each with one case.


Aside from the green zone districts such as Ranau, Pitas, Kuala Penyu and Tongod, other districts that did not record any new cases are Penampang, Kalabakan, Putatan, Kota Belud, Papar, Kudat, Tambunan, Beaufort, Semporna, Sipitang, Beluran, and Telupid.


"The number of active cases now stands at 483 with 205 of the patients at the hospitals, including 28 in the intensive care unit with 16 of them ventilated, and 278 in the quarantine and low risk treatment centres.


"The cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah is 54,069 to date, including an addition of 35 recoveries reported today," he said.
