COVID: SABAH DAILY CASES DROP BELOW 200

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 184 new Covid-19 cases, lower than yesterday’s 230 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 66,730.
However, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said three deaths were also recorded today with two in Tawau, and one in Semporna.
“Today's figure shows a drop of cases below 200. Even so, the number of green zone district remains one.
"This shows that there is still a trend of non-compliance of standard operating procedure (SOP).
"Of the total cases, 106 cases were detected through close contact screening, while 49 were detected through cluster screening, 18 through symptomatic screening and 11 from other categories," he said in a statement today.
Kota Kinabalu still recorded the highest number of cases with 60 cases followed by Tawau (33), Kunak (15), Penampang (12), Papar, Nabawan, Sipitang, and Sandakan (seven), Tuaran (six), Beaufort, Lahad Datu, and Semporna (five), Kota Belud and Putatan (four), Kalabakan (three), Kudat and Keningau (two).
Meanwhile, districts that did not record any new cases today are Tongod, Tambunan, Kinabatangan, Telupid, Ranau, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Kuala Penyu, Tenom, and Beluran.
The number of active cases now stands at 2,085 with 527 treated at hospitals and 1,558 in quarantine centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 96 with 38 requiring ventilator support," he stated.
As for recoveries, a total of 226 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 63,751.
