PENAMPANG: The launch of the website for the Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (KCCI) is set to strengthen the organization in line with the advancement of the digital world.
Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Phoong Jin Zhe, stated that the Kadazandusun community is rich in culture and heritage and has always possessed a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
However, he noted that in an increasingly digital world, everyone must adapt and embrace digital tools that can connect, empower, and advance communities.
“The website we are launching today is not just a digital platform. It is a bridge that connects businesses, entrepreneurs, and our community.
“It is also a gateway to new markets, new collaborations, and new opportunities,” he said.
He made these remarks in his keynote speech at the 27th KCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was delivered by his ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Datuk Thomas Logijin.
Also present were KCCI President, Datuk Ladislaus Maluda, and SME Corp Chairman, Tan Sri Bernard Dompok.
According to him, in an era driven by technology, having a strong online presence is no longer a luxury but a necessity.
“This website will allow us to reach a wider audience, build stronger business relationships, and leverage the power of the internet to drive economic growth within our business community.
“Let us welcome this new digital platform with enthusiasm and determination. Use it to build a stronger and more prosperous future for KCCI,” he added.
Meanwhile, this year’s AGM also featured the election of a new committee, with Datuk Ladislaus Maluda retaining his position as KCCI President and Datuk Stephen Sampil as Deputy President.
