DO gives briefing to Puspanita group

PENAMPANG: Members of Puspanita, an organisation representing wives and female members of the Civil Service from the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (MEDC) and Penampang were accorded by a briefing at the District Council here.

The MEDC Puspanita was led by the Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick's wife, Datin Connie Parantis while Puspanita Penampang was led by Emmelda Immit.

During the event, District Officer Francis Chong welcomed the group saying that it was a reciprocal visit by MEDC Puspanita as Penampang Puspanita had visited the Ministry's group in Kuala Lumpur previously.

He believed that their visit was also in conjunction with the National Hawkers and Small Traders Carnival (HPPK) 2023 to be held for three days, from Dec 7 to Dec 9.

The Prime Minister Datuk Anwar Ibrahim is expected to launch the grand event at Buhavan Square.

"It is being held for the first time in Sabah, and of course Penampang, which is an honour," he said.

He also briefed the group about Penampang District Council and its future development.

According to him, Penampang District Council would be identified or upgraded into Penampang Municipal Council next year.

He said this was aligned to the development and progress of Penampang as a whole.

He thanked the group for their visit and hoped that they had enjoyed their stay and return for more visits in future.
