EMCO IN KAMPUNG TANJUNG BATU KERAMAT, TAWAU APRIL 15-28

KOTA KINABALU: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Kampung Tanjung Batu Keramat, Tawau will be enforced starting today and ends on April 28.


Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, this is to facilitate the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to make early detection of suspected Covid-19 cases so that they can be isolated as soon as possible.


Apart from that, it also facilitates in the prevention of infection to other areas outside the locality.


"As of April 14, the MOH has confirmed that 17 positive cases have been recorded out of 25 residents screened in the locality.


"There has also been an increase in cases in the locality and four more test samples are still awaiting the results," he said in a press statement, here, today.


Masidi said, after a joint risk assessment with various agencies in the MCO Technical Committee and on the advice of the MOH, the state government has agreed to implement 14 days of EMCO in Kampung Tanjung Batu Keramat.
