EX-KUAMUT STATE ASSEMBLYMAN JOSEPH SITIN SAANG DIES

KOTA KINABALU: Former state assemblyman Datuk Joseph Sitin Saang has passed away. He was 69.


Joseph's son Felix Joseph, in his Facebook posting today, said his father has been suffering from heart and kidney complications for the past two months.


"With deep sorrow, we hereby inform that our beloved father, Datuk Joseph Sitin Saang has returned to the Lord at 8:55 am on 24th January 2021 (Sunday)," he said.


Felix said his remains is now lying at Wisma Fook Lu Siew Funeral Parlour at Mile 2 Jalan Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, VIP Room.


His family thanked all their family members and friends who have prayed for their father.


Joseph was fielded by Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) in Kuamat during the state's political crisis in 1986 and won the seat.


Meanwhile, President of United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau in his Facebook posting expressed his condolence to Felix who is also the Upko Malaysia Youth Chief cum Upko Beluran Division Chief.


"Let's pray that the family been left behind will be given strength and perseverance during this sorrowful time. Rest in peace, Datuk Joseph Sitin Saang," the post stated.
