KUALA LUMPUR: Targeted groups involving healthcare workers, the immunocompromised, elderly with comorbidities and those in long-term healthcare facilities will receive the third dose of Covid-19 vaccine starting October.

At a press conference today, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said only these groups will be prioritised for the third dose at the moment.

The third dose, he added, aims to increase a person's immunity response to the virus in case the first two doses do not suffice

Meanwhile, Khairy said no action will be taken against undocumented migrants who seek to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

He stated that the vaccination is meant for every single person who resides in Malaysia whether they are citizens or not.
