KOTA BELUD: Today, 92 residents of Kampung Kiau received free eyeglasses from the Spectruck team, a significant milestone achieved through a collaborative initiative with Pernas. These beneficiaries were selected from over 400 individuals who participated in comprehensive eye tests conducted in the village.

The SpecTruck team spent two weeks in four villages including Kampung Kiau, providing essential eye examinations to locals. This initiative underscored the pressing need for vision care across all age groups within the community, with recipients ranging from young children to senior citizens.

Dr. Carmen Soo, Director of SpecTruck Sdn Bhd, conveyed her commitment to addressing the community's vision needs. During their time in Kota Belud, the team engaged closely with local residents to gain insights into their specific requirements.

Nurshuhadah Hamid, a representative from the Strategic Communications Department of Pernas, expressed her satisfaction with the initiative's outcomes. She emphasised the transformative impact of the programme on residents' eye health and overall well-being.

She praised the collaboration, noting that it greatly benefited this rural community, which traditionally faces significant barriers to accessing essential eye care services.

This programme not only highlighted the importance of vision health but also fostered a sense of community support and engagement.
