Improvement of facilities in PPDK with contribution from MP

PENAMPANG: The Penampang Community Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK) has been allocated RM20,000 to assist with the improvement of facilities at the centre.

PPDK Chairperson Helena Santong received the donation during the PPDK Penampang Kaamatan Festival 2025, held on Friday.

During the event, Helena expressed her gratitude to Datuk Ewon Benedick, the Penampang Member of Parliament, who launched the event and subsequently presented the monetary assistance.

“The funds provided by Datuk Ewon will be utilised to the best of our ability, including repairing our premises and purchasing learning resources for our trainees, who number 63 in total,” she stated.

She thanked the MP and emphasised their deep appreciation for his presence, describing themselves as fortunate to receive his ongoing support and encouragement.

Helena also expressed hope that other non-governmental organisations will visit them to offer assistance in kind or through other means.

Meanwhile, the MP remarked, “This is my support in efforts to complement the initiatives undertaken by teachers and parents at PPDK Penampang, who require assistance not only from the People’s Representatives but also from various government agencies and NGOs.”

“I am very confident that PPDK Penampang will continue to receive support from many quarters,” Ewon added during the event.
