KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has missed the Cabinet swearing-in ceremony at the Istana Negara today as he has been identified as a Covid-19 close contact.
The Prime Minister's Office in a statement today said Ismail is undergoing self-isolation starting today.
“As such, the prime minister will not be attending the appointment and swearing-in ceremony of ministers and deputy ministers before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah this evening.
"The prime minister will also only participate virtually” at tomorrow’s Independence Day celebration at the Pahlawan Negara Square in Putrajaya," said the office.
The swearing-in ceremony for all Cabinet members under Ismail's new administration was held at 2.30pm.
