KOTA BELUD: Christmas is two weeks away but churches in the Kadamaian state constituency have received their early Christmas gifts in the form of hampers.
Donor of the hampers, State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick, said he hoped the contribution could bring joy to the villagers in the constituency who are preparing for the upcoming celebration.
"Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are not able to hold open houses for Christmas and New Year celebrations this year.
“Therefore, I prepared these hampers to our friends, grassroots leaders, and church leaders in Kadamaian," he said after delivering the hampers to the Kadamaian State Assembly Service Centre here, Saturday.
Ewon, who is also the Vice President of United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko), expressed his gratitude towards parties and volunteers involved in the delivering process of the donation.
"More Christmas hampers will be sent out next week," he revealed, also reminding those who will be celebrating Christmas to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in breaking the chain of Covid-19 spread.
