KOTA KINABALU: In honour of the invaluable contributions that nurses make to society, KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital held health screenings and games in its lobby.
Under the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies”, the event was held in conjunction with International Nurses Day.
Additionally, a Hand Hygiene Campaign, followed by a Hand Hygiene Dance, was conducted to educate both hospital staff and the public about reducing the risk of infection and protecting individuals and communities.

The KPJ Sabah Nursing team also initiated a Corporate Responsibility programme by making a donation to an Old Folks' Home at Sri Pritchard, Kinarut, Papar.
This programme aims to provide essential resources for the elderly residents, demonstrate community support, and foster warm relationships between the KPJ Sabah nursing team and the home.
The team provided one wheelchair, one commode chair, dry food, and daily necessities to the residents of the home.

Another engaging initiative by the KPJ Sabah Nursing team was the organisation of grooming sessions in collaboration with Mary Kay. These sessions included basic make-up and skincare tutorials.
The objectives were to enhance the professionalism of nurses, improve patient interactions, and build confidence in their appearance.
The sessions also help new nurses to develop a positive self-image and understand the importance of a caring attitude.

The KPJ Sabah nursing team concluded the week-long International Nurses Day celebrations with a dinner at the hospital hall.
This event expressed gratitude and appreciation for the dedication of nurses, promoted a sense of community, and fostered a positive and supportive work environment. It also provided a memorable occasion to celebrate the nursing profession.
Nurses play a pivotal role as the backbone of healthcare, delivering comprehensive patient care that encompasses direct patient support, medical administration, and collaboration with medical teams.
They advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are met while contributing to quality improvement efforts.
The KPJ Sabah nurses strive to be more than just caregivers; they are committed to providing the highest quality of healthcare and patient care, in line with KPJ Healthcare Berhad's motto: “Care for Life.”
