Long Covid patients to undergo rehabilitation programme - KJ

KUALA LUMPUR: Individuals who suffer from Long Covid after getting infected with Covid-19 will soon undergo a special rehabilitation programme, said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

At a press conference today, he said the programme will be led by rehabilitation experts from several hospitals across the country.

He explained that the programme will be conducted separately according to symptoms that are experienced by the patients.

There are five Long Covid symptoms that have been identified by the Health Ministry, namely lethargic, breathing difficulties, cough, sleeping difficulty and anxiety.

According to Khairy, several individuals who had recovered from Covid-19 returned to the hospital after experiencing the symptoms.

At the moment, they are receiving hospital treatment based on their symptoms.

Khairy however stressed that no known deaths due to Long Covid have been recorded so far and that several studies are being conducted to understand more of the issue.
