KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) meeting taking place here this Thursday will yield positive results.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor is confident that the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will discuss several outstanding issues related to MA63.
"This is the MA63 meeting that will be chaired by the Honorable Prime Minister.
"We sincerely hope to resolve and achieve progress on several issues within MA63.
"There are indeed outstanding issues that need to be addressed, and many have already been implemented.
"That is the purpose of this meeting," he said after officiating the World Engineering, Science, and Technology Congress (ESTCON) 2024 at SICC today.
Hajiji mentioned that any unresolved matters related to MA63 will be negotiated as effectively as possible with the Prime Minister and the Federal Government.
"This is to ensure that the agreements reached can be implemented. We are sure there will be positive outcomes," he said.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to make a one-day working visit to Sabah this Thursday, which includes attending the MA63 meeting.
The Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof are expected to attend the meeting.
