KOTA KINABALU: Nabawan district will be placed under another 14 days of Movement Control Order (MCO) beginning March 17.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the initial MCO which was placed in the district from March 3 was scheduled to end on March 16.

“To date, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has conducted a total of 3,079 test samples with 279 positive cases recorded out of the total.

“However, MoH confirmed a total of 872 more screening samples are still awaiting results,” he said in a press conference today.

He added that the State Government has agreed to extend the MCO period upon the advice of MoH and after conducting a joint risk assessment with various agencies and the MCO Technical Committee.
