KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will continue to implement the existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the movement control order (MCO) which will be lifted on Feb 4.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, operations of night markets, tamu, and agro markets are still not allowed to operate as stipulated in the SOP of Sabah's MCO issued by the State Government on Jan 23.

"This is to ensure that the spread of Covid-19 can be curbed among the community," he said in a press statement, today.

According to Masidi, police will take stern action against those who violate the SOP with a RM1,000 compound under Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1998).
