SSBA President Frankie Kok

3 Feb 2021

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Snooker and Billiards Association (SSBA) is pleading with the state government or relevant agencies to waive the snooker and billiard table license fee during the enforcement period of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Apart from paying the shop rent, snooker and billiard shop operators also need pay for a fee of RM55 per table every month.

SSBA President Frankie Kok said the fee is still collected every month even though the operations had been ordered to close several times since March last year.

In fact, he said, despite being allowed to operate, many customers did not dare to come as they were worried about Covid-19 transmission.

"The government o relevant agencies may have overlooked the issue of paying table fees. What's for sure is that the implementation of MCO has greatly affected our business.

"I represent all members of the association appealing for this matter to be taken into consideration by the relevant parties," he said when met, today.

Frankie added that his party is ready to discuss with the government or relevant agencies about the matter as well as to find the best solution.
