KUALA LUMPUR: Sahabat Usahawan Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) in Melaka consists of 6,047 individuals, with a total financing involvement of RM40 million.
Deputy Minister Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) Saraswathy Kandasami said this in answer to Senator Datuk Haji Mustafa Musa at the Dewan Rakyat today.
She said AIM always assists affected entrepreneurs through measures such as providing financial assistance through the Ikhtiar Financing Scheme under the Malaysian Ikhtiar Trust (AIM) to micro and informal entrepreneurs.
It includes encouraging the involvement of micro and informal entrepreneurs in programmes organised by MEDC and its agencies, such as the Small Traders and Hawkers Day Programme, Mini Carnival for Small Traders and Hawkers, and Madani Cooperative Sales Programme.
They also encourage micro and informal entrepreneurs to enhance their knowledge in business and financial management through cooperation with the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN)-ends
