MYBERAS@WILAYAH KICKS OFF IN LABUAN WITH 150 RECIPIENTS

LABUAN: A total of 150 people here were today given food kits, part of the 1,600 recipients selected for the MYBeras@Wilayah aid programme in conjunction with the Federal Territory Day.

The food aid from the Federal Territories Ministry will be channelled three times a week to the recipients throughout this month.

"This is part of the government's initiative under the MYFood@Wilayah programme to ease the people's financial burden in facing the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Labuan Corporation chief executive officer Dr Fary Akmal Osman

"We will be distributing the food kits in the form of rice every week," she told Bernama. Earlier, Dr Fary presented the food kits at Wisma Perbadanan Labuan here to 150 recipients from the B40 and urban poor groups.

She said the Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan would also be channelling the food kits through the people's representative council (MPP) until June 21 with the close cooperation of sponsors and corporate players. -Bernama
