KOTA KINABALU: Sabah identified one new Covid-19 cluster Keningau, dubbed as the D Gana cluster, which reported 19 new cases today.
Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, the cumulative total of positive cases in the cluster now stands at 20.
"The index case of the cluster is a woman who tested positive after exhibiting symptoms at a medical centre in Keningau on March 20.
"Close contact screening found 19 individuals among the index case's family members to have contracted the virus," he said in a statement today.
According to Masidi, the infection was spread after the index case regularly visited the houses of his children in the district.
The cause of the infection is still under investigation and screening of close contacts is currently being actively conducted.
It was also announced that Keningau district will be placed under a 14-day movement control order (MCO) beginning Monday.
