NEW COVID CLUSTERS IN SIPITANG, BEAUFORT, KINABATANGAN

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah registered three new Covid-19 clusters today, dubbed as the 'Kg Samin' cluster in Sipitang, 'Kg Padas Damit' cluster in Beaufort, and 'Ladang Sg Pin' cluster in Kinabatangan.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said Kg Samin Cluster has a cumulative total of 28 cases, including eight new cases reported today.
The index case of this cluster was 27-year-old woman who tested positive through a screening of symptomatic individuals at Kota Belud Hospital, on Jan 27.
"She tested positive after returning from a funeral ceremony at Kg Samin, Sipitang," he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the index case of the Kg Padas Damit Cluster was of a 63-year-old woman who tested positive through a ward admittance screening on Jan 24.
"The cluster today recorded six new cases and the cumulative total of infections in the cluster now stands at 32," he said.
For Ladang Sg Pin cluster, 33 new cases were detected today, bringing the cumulative total of the cluster to 36.
The index case was a plantation staff whose child tested positive through a screening of symptomatic individuals.
Sabah recorded a total of 276 new Covid-19 cases and 301 recoveries today.
