NEW KOMPLEKS EMPAT CLUSTER INVOLVES EIGHT DISTRICTS

KOTA KINABALU: A new cluster in Sabah has emerged which is the Kompleks Empat cluster involving eight districts.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said that the districts involved are Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Tuaran, Penampang, Putatan, Ranau, Kota Belud and Sandakan.
In his statement today, he said the index case of the cluster is an enforcement officer from Level 4, State Government Administrative Centre.
“The 32-year-old man tested positive through an inter-state travel (from Kota Kinabalu to Labuan) screening at a private clinic on May 5,” he added.
Following the case, Masidi said, close contact screening of the index case’s colleagues has found another 14 positive cases in Kota Kinabalu and three cases in Tuaran, while Kota Belud, Sandakan and Papar each have two cases.
"Meanwhile, Putatan, Ranau and Penampang each recorded one positive case, bringing the cumulative number of positive cases in this cluster to 27 cases.
"To date, close contact screening is still being conducted actively," he added.
