NEW SANDAKAN CLUSTER INVOLVES STUDENTS

KOTA KINABALU: A new Covid-19 cluster has been detected involving students in Semporna, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.

According to Masidi in a statement today, the Tagasan cluster has emerged from students from Maktab Rendah Sains MARA.

The index case involved a form four students who tested positive through symptomatic screening at a clinic on 08 Aprl 2021.

“However, a close contact screening found that four other students and the school’s driver were tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the cumulative number to six cases.

"Close contact screening and investigation of the cause of infection are still being actively conducted,” said Masidi.
