KUALA PENYU: A total of eight outstanding entrepreneurs from Sabah received the TEKUN National Successful Entrepreneur Award.
The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (MEDC) Datuk Ewon Benedick said this is during the launching of the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) today.
Ewon who is UPKO President said this was a form of recognition given to entrepreneurs who have proven successful in navigating the challenges of business in the current economic uncertainty.
He extended his congratulations to the successful TEKUN National entrepreneurs and hope their success inspire other entrepreneurs to persevere.
The recipients were Ramega Letro Enterprise, Aura Juta Enterprise,
Hajah Yanong Frozen Food Enterprise, Syarikat Sri Aman,
RR Biz Supplier & Logistics, Music Monster Academy, Zaishar Borneo Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd. and Pinocchio Secret Design.
Ewon also announced the implementation of the Business Equipment Financing Scheme (S3P) by TEKUN National.
"This scheme will assist entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses with financing for business capital and assistance in financing the purchase of business equipment in a single financing package," he said.
The financing amount provided ranges from RM1,000 to RM20,000 with an annual profit rate of 4%.
According to him, some entrepreneurs have limited knowledge to develop effective business strategies to compete in the market.
"Therefore, an approach to develope the knowledge and skills of entrepreneurs is necessary to create businesses with strong competitiveness in the market."
In this respect, the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) in collaboration with the Bank Rakyat Foundation will provide benefits totaling RM300,000 to 1,200 entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak.
"To provide opportunities and encouragement to entrepreneurs in East Malaysia, the Bank Rakyat Foundation will sponsor RM250 for each participant who joins the entrepreneurship training programme organised by INSKEN in Sabah and Sarawak.
Through this initiative, he hoped that more informal entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak will take the opportunity to acquire entrepreneurship knowledge to strengthen their businesses.
" I urge all entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity by registering for the INSKEN training program on the website www.insken.gov.my," he stated.
