KOTA KINABALU: It is time for the Sabah National Security Council (NSC) to reveal more detailed information on all Covid-19 active cases and deaths on a daily basis so that the public will have a better understanding of the pandemic situation, said Tanjong Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon.
He said this includes the variants on those who have contacted the virus and are either at home, quarantine centres, or under medical treatments in hospitals.
“Besides that, the data on the vaccine effectiveness against Covid-19 in various categories of seriousness should also be revealed.
“The public, in general, are all foot soldiers against these unseen enemies. It is essential that they are fed with correct and more information on the ground so that together we can fight the battle effectively.
“Therefore, the Minister involved should reveal in each category on matters such as how many have been vaccinated, how many have been partly, fully or not vaccinated, what are their ages within the category, how many have pre-existing or no pre-existing medical issues, and the total number of days under quarantine or in hospitals,” he said in a statement today.
Frankie added that more detailed data should also be made available of those who died of Covid-19, including those brought in death in respect of their ages, any pre-existing medical issues, whether they are partly, fully, or not vaccinated at all, and their gender.
“These are invaluable information for the public especially for those who have not been vaccinated.
“I believe this kind of data and information should be able to assist businesses to understand how safe each person is after they have been fully vaccinated or otherwise. In short, everyone would be able to have a better understanding of this virus,” he asserted.
