SABAH COVID CASELOAD SHOOTS UP TO 323

KOTA KINABALU: The Covid-19 caseload in Sabah shot up to 323 today, after registering daily cases of 279 yesterday, pushing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 71,791.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said 139 of the new cases stemmed from cluster screening while 106 cases were from close contact screening, 40 from targeted screening, 25 from symptomatic screening, and the rest from other categories.
"Telupid and Sipitang have today been declared as green zones, joining Beluran.
"The number of red zones remains 16 while there are five and three yellow and orange zones, respectively," he said in a statement today.
According to Masidi, the number of active cases now stands at 1,867 with 386 treated at hospitals, 1,345 in quarantine centres, and 136 in temporary detention centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 54 with 16 requiring ventilator support.
"As for recoveries, a total of 230 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 68,969."
